Ninety Nine Restaurant Pub is Hiring a Staff Accountant Near Woburn, MA

POSITION SUMMARY

Support accurate and timely reporting of individual restaurant profit and loss statements by maintaining store-level general ledger data and communicating with store management in detail. Departmental responsibility encompasses support for all restaurants.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES – Including, but not limited to:

  • Provide feedback to Operations management regarding processing improvements and issue resolution.
  • Provide key accounting support to field managers and research all accounting questions from the field.
  • Review and follow procedures consistent with SOX 404 narratives.
  • Analyze weekly GL detail by store to identify and resolve any issues.
  • Make adjusting general ledger entries as required.
  • Adapt to conflicting priorities as well as established deadlines based upon company demands.
  • Be aware of changing accounting practices while learning to use software to maximize efficiencies.
  • Analyze restaurant accounting reports, research discrepancies, and recommend adjustments to the store P&L statements, general ledger, summary sales statistics and inventory sheets.
  • Work with Financial Reporting to ensure accurate reporting for period end.
  • Analyze cost of sales by store weekly to identify anomalies.
  • Verify number of distributor invoices weekly to ensure none are overlooked.
  • Work with Cash Management and stores to verify deposits & total cash responsibility.
  • Work with stores to locate proper documentation for AP Exceptions.
  • Compare weekly call in sales and food cost numbers to general ledger.
  • Perform ad-hoc tasks and special projects as required by management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in accounting.

Experience/Training:

  • 2-4 years of staff accounting or related experience.

Required:

  • Knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Excel functions.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills (customer service oriented).
  • Ability to effectively communicate and interact in a continuously changing environment.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Strong time management skills.

  • Basic AD&D insurance equal to 1x covered compensation.
  • Short Term Disability (Provided at no cost to team member) – In the event of a medically approved illness or injury, STD provides salary continuation. Benefit is 60% of base salary ($1,400 weekly maximum benefit) for up to 26 weeks.
  • Long Term Disability (Provided at no cost to team member) – 50% base salary LTD benefit continues salary if you are medically unable to work following 26 weeks of Short-Term Disability benefits.
  • After 6 months of employment you are eligible to participate in the company’s 401(k) plan upon reaching 21 years of age. The company provides discretionary matching contributions subject to Board approval quarterly.

The salary range for this position is $60,000-$70,000
